Süsserfuss Women Go Back-To-Back

Süsserfuss Ballverein wins the women’s division for the second straight season.

COPLEY, Ohio. — The Süsserfuss Ballverein women capped off their perfect 12-0-0 season with a 5-2 victory over Ohio City in the NOSL Women’s final on Saturday, July 26 as they completed an unbeaten summer for their second straight title.

Heavy rainstorms throughout the afternoon delayed kickoff by over an hour but that did not seem to deter reigning champions Süsserfuss Ballverein as they took on Ohio City. The two sides met in the 2024 version of the women’s final and put on an entertaining display, which Süsserfuss ultimately won in penalty kicks after both teams were deadlocked after the end of regulation. The 2025 final played out much differently as SFBV controlled play from the very beginning.

Sonia Lamarre was the hero for Süsserfuss as she scored a hat trick of goals that proved to be the difference in the game. SFBV’s other two goals were scored by Paityn Marino. Ohio City forward Halle Stelbasky, who was announced as league MVP after the game, scored two late goals but it wasn’t enough to get her team back in the game.

Süsserfuss Ballverein has had a great start to life in the NOSL since joining the league in 2024. In their two seasons, SFBV has not lost a game and already has two league titles to their name.
